In recent years, they have become a familiar piece of jewelry on diesel vehicles with most owners not understanding what their purpose is, other than ‘me mate reckons every diesel must have a Catch Can.

According to some experts, you shouldn’t leave the house without one, but in the past 10 years of providing over the phone diesel diagnostics, I have witnessed many failures that could have been prevented had there not been a Catch Can fitted and hiding the issue.
